(English version below).... Welkom in de Van Maerlantstraat, een pas gerenoveerd pand met charme! Jouw kamer bevindt zich op de eerste verdieping van dit historische pand dat je via een mooie witte trappenhal bereikt. Op de tussenverdieping bevindt zich jouw badkamer (gedeeld met je buur, dus met max 2 studenten) met inloopdouche en toilet. Je betreedt je kamer en merkt meteen de zalige look & feel op: grote raampartijen met veel lichtinval, een authentieke schouw, speelse muurelementen en hoge plafonds. In de kamer beschik je over voldoende ramen en natuurlijk lichtinval, een wastafel met koud en warm water, een bed van 140cm breed x 200 cm lang voorzien van lattenbodem én matras, opbergruimte voor je kledij, een bureau en bureau stoel. Last but not least, mag je ook gebruik maken van de gemeenschappelijke student-cave op verdieping -1 waar je een polyvalente ruimte vind en een gemeenschappelijke keuken waar je samen met 5 andere studenten die in dit studentenhuis wonen zult koken en samenkomen. Je vindt er FatBoys, een ruime tafel en stoelen, vuilnisbakken, een coole keuken met een combi-oven, een inductie kookplaat, een koelkast, diepvriezer, vaatwasmachine en alle nodige voorzieningen om een topmaaltijd te koken. Deze kamer kan gehuurd worden als volgt: - Volledig academiejaar (12 maanden): 500 EUR huur + 100 EUR kosten (all-in) - Semester 1 (Sep-Jan: 5 maanden): 650 EUR huur + 100 EUR kosten (all-in) - Semester 2 (Feb-Aug: 7 maanden): 575 EUR huur + 100 EUR kosten (all-in) - Semester 2 (Feb-Jul: 6 maanden): 625 EUR huur + 100 EUR kosten (all-in) - Semester 2 (Feb-Jun: 5 maanden): 650 EUR huur + 100 EUR kosten (all-in) Er is steeds de optie om te verlengen naar volgend academiejaar toe. De kamer komt volledig gemeubeld dus je hoeft niks mee te brengen en naar boven te sleuren, wat een gemak! Opgelet wel: dit is enkel voor studenten. Je vaste kosten zijn "all-in" 100 EUR per maand, wat wil zeggen dat je geen rekening hoeft te houden met afrekeningen en facturen. En hierin is inbegrepen: gas, verwarming, water, elektriciteit én internet. PS: Het Groen Kotlabel is in aanvraag (aangevraagd na complete renovaties). ENGLISH VERSION : Welcome to Van Maerlantstraat , a newly renovated building with charm! Your room is located on the second floor of this historic building that you reach via a beautiful white staircase. On the mezzanine floor is your bathroom (shared with your neighbor, so with max 2 students) with walk-in shower and toilet. You enter your room and immediately notice the wonderful look and feel: large windows with lots of light, an authentic fireplace, playful wall elements and high ceilings. The room has plenty of windows and natural light, a sink with hot and cold water, a bed of 140 cm wide x 200 cm long with slatted base and mattress, storage space for your clothes, a desk and chair. Last but not least, you may also use the common student-cave on floor -1 where you will find a multipurpose room and a common kitchen where you will cook and get together with 5 other students living in this student house. You will find FatBoys, a spacious table and chairs, garbage cans, a cool kitchen with a combi-oven, an induction cooktop, a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and all the necessary amenities to cook a top meal. The room comes fully furnished so you don't have to bring anything and drag it upstairs, what a convenience! Please note: this is for students only. Your fixed costs are "all-in" 100 EUR per month, which means you don't have to deal with settlements and bills. This includes gas, heating, water, electricity and internet. PS: Green Kot label is in process (requested after complete renovations). The charges is an all-in fixed price for electricity, heating (gas), water, internet. The deposit (guarantee) is 2 months, which is the standard in Belgium for student rooms. This is refunded after your stay, if there is no damage to the room or the apartment. This must be paid when signing the rental contract, as a confirmation of your stay. This is for all student residences, and according to Belgian law (otherwise students would sign for various rooms without eventually showing up). It is not possible to rent without a deposit, and we cannot keep the room blocked until your arrival for this reason. All rooms are fully furnished with all items as visible on the photos, including wash table. There are large windows, so you get lots of day light, which is very nice. In your room, you will find a a mattress etc. (all furniture needed for your stay). You only must bring your suitcase. :) The residence is newly renovated in 2024, meaning that you will be one of the first to live there. (Only one semester before you students have lived here). It is a small scale residence with 3 floors so it is very cosy. We are open to both Belgian as international students, so also interns, researchers, PhD or Erasmus students. In floor -1, you will find a shared spacious new kitchen with all appliances: oven, micro, fridge, freezer, cooking plate, dishwasher etc. There is also a TV in the living room. You can connect your Smartphone to it and watch Netflix on the Fat Boys. We also have supermarkets like Lidl, Colruyt, Jumbo and Albert Heijn nearby in walking distance. How to Apply? If you wish to apply for a room, please send us following information: - Proof of your ID/passport (DNI) - Current official home address - Phone number (incl country code) - Email - Proof of studies/internship/research/Erasmus in Antwerp (Acceptance Letter / Learning Agreement) - Proof of income (if the rent is paid by your parents, this can be their proof of income, eg. salary sheets of the past 3 months) - Emergency contact: eg. mother/brother, name, phone, email - Prefered start date of the rent - Prefered end date of the rent - Prefered room We will then evaluate your application, and if positive, send you a rental contract to overview and sign if you agree. If you would like to make a physical visit to the residence first, it's of course possible too if you are already in Belgium.
